IRES at ISA, San Diego

Between April 1‑4, the 53rd International Studies Association (ISA) Annual Convention was held in San Diego where the IRES Department was genuinely present.

IRES Head of Department Matteo Fumagalli presented a paper at , co‑authored with Hanna Kirvas, titled 'Cyber‑hatred in Russia'.

IRES Associate Professor Erin Jenne chaired a panel titled "MAR in the 21st Century: Celebrating 25 Years of Empirical Analysis of Ethnic Politics"

IRES and DPP Assistant Professor Youngmi Kim organized a panel on Social Movements, Media Events and Digital Populism and presented a paper on ‘Online Activism 3.0 and the real namesystem in South Korea.

IRES Assitant Professor Xymena Kurowska participated in a a number of panels, titled "Telling the Tale of Constructivism," "US, EU and Global Homeland Security Practices After 9/11," "Into the Borderscape: Ways and Means of Conceptualising and Operationalising the Borderscape in Order to Better Understand Contemporary Borders and Bordering."
