Xymena Kurowska becomes co-editor of the Journal of International Relations and Development (JIRD)

In January 2021, Xymena Kurowska from the International Relations department and Saskia Stachowitsch, Professor of international politics at Vienna University, take over the editorship of Journal of International Relations and Development (JIRD) which is the flagship journal of the Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA). They will continue tireless effort of Paul Roe of the IR department and Ákos Kopper of ELTE, Budapest. Xymena and Saskia are supported by a number of associate editors: Felix Ciută of University College London; Michael Dorsch of the School of Public Policy at Central European University; Stephanie Hofmann of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and the European University Institute; Frédéric Mérand of the University of Montreal; Rafi Youatt of the New School for Social Research; and Srđan Vučetić of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at Ottawa University. They are joined by dr Katarina Kušić of Aberystwyth University, IR alumna, who will serve as JIRD communications officer.  

The composition of the new team reflects the regional roots of the journal, a diversity of geographical experiences, and significant expertise in many of the fields and core areas of the International Relations discipline: International Political Economy, International Organization, International Political Sociology, Security Studies, Gender, Geopolitics, International Political Theory, to name but a few. The editorial team also bring methodological breadth, spanning expertise in formal modelling, quantitative and qualitative positivist, interpretive, and narrative methods. They look forward to cultivating JIRD's tradition of decentring and pluralising knowledge production in International Relations.
