Michael Denison, Research Director at Control Risks, a leading international risk consultancy, will discuss how organisations increasingly use political risk analysis when operating in hostile and complex environments. The session will also explore how political science is typically applied to strategic decision-making in the commercial and public sector and how students might be best prepared to enter the growing political risk consultancy market.

Michael Denison is research director at Control Risks, a leading international business consultancy. He has been special adviser to the UK foreign secretary, lecturer in International Security at the University of Leeds, and associate fellow at Chatham House. He has published widely on Central Asia, including in IISS Strategic Survey, Europe-Asia Studies, OstEuropa, World Today and for the Centre for European Policy Studies.
