Boldizsár Nagy at the From Tanpere 20 to Tampere 2.0 conference

IR Professor Boldizsár Nagy was chairing an asylum panel at the From Tanpere 20 to Tampere 2.0 conference in Helsinki. The opening plenary included Paavo Lipponen, former Prime Minister of Finland (at the time of the original Tampere meeting), Antonio Vitorino , Director General of the International Organisation for Migration and former JHA commissioner (also in 1999) and Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

1989: “We Could Be Heroes” – 30 Years After Undergraduate Summer Conference Review

It's never too early to assert yourself, showcase your work and meet fellow IR researchers. Our first undergraduate conference in summer 2019 helped us to discover bright students and learn more about their research interests, the best essays will appear on our website soon. In return, all participants had a chance to meet IR professors and PhD candidates and get detailed feedback on their work. Because that's how it is done at CEU: small classes, attention to each student and extracurricular programs.

Dóra Piroska on post-crisis European banking governance

IR department Visiting Professor Dóra Piroska together with Ana Podvrsic has recently published an article with New Political Economy titled "New European Banking Governance and Crisis of Democracy: Bank Restructuring and Privatization in Slovenia". 

Academic Year 2019-2020

We are very excited to start this very special Academic Year 2019-2020 together with our new and continuing students! Why is it special? This will be the first time for our department to have classes in three cities and on two continents. The third group of IR students enrolled in the two years Masters degree program is in New York City already taking classes and doing internships with various organizatons.
