"The Reinvention of Development Banking in the European Union"

On March 2, 2021 CEU's Department of International Relations hosted a book launch of 'The Reinvention of Development Banking in the European Union' edited by Daniel Mertens, Matthias Thieman, and Peter Volberding (2021).

The event was chaired by Béla Greskovits (University Professor at CEU). The following book chapters were presented:

The Making of the European Field of Development Banking (co-author Peter Volberding) by Matthias Thiemann (Sciences Po), and Daniel Mertens (Uni Osnabrück) 

and  

Managing the Contradictions of Development Finance in the EU’s Eastern Periphery: Development Banks in Hungary and Poland (co-author Katalin Mérő) by Dóra Piroska (Corvinus and CEU). 

 

The discussants panel included Rachel Epstein (Associate Dean, Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver), Nicole Lindstrom (Senior Lecturer, University of York), and Laszló Bruszt (Professor of Sociology at CEU, Co-Director of CEU Democracy Institute).
